How It Works

Layered Acrylic

What makes it 3D

Each clear sheet holds one part of your pet. Stacked together, they create real depth.

Print vs. layers

Why not just a print?

A print is flat. Our clear acrylic layers sit one in front of the other, with air between them — so light moves through the portrait and your pet seems to step out of the frame.

Inside Our Studio

Step by step

What happens after you order

Your turnOur studioOnly three quick steps need you — we handle the rest.

01

Choose your portrait

Headshot, Full Body, Multi-Pet or Memorial. Then choose a size and the number of layers (5, 6 or 7 — more layers means more depth). Every portrait arrives framed and ready to display.

  • You pick the options that suit your wall.

02

Upload your photo

One clear photo is all we need. You can add notes — a favourite expression, a collar colour, anything you want us to get right.

  • You upload a photo at checkout and tell us about your pet.
  • Us check the photo and let you know if a different one would work better.

03

You approve the sketch

Before anything is painted, we email you a sketch. Want the ears a little softer or the eyes brighter? Tell us — revisions are free.

  • You reply with changes, or approve it.
  • Us revise it with you until it feels right.

04

We design your layers

Our artists study your pet’s features and plan which parts sit on which layer, so the finished piece has depth from every angle.

  • Us plan the composition and the layers.

05

We paint by hand

Each acrylic layer is painted by hand, checked and aligned. Then the layers are assembled into the finished portrait and inspected before packing.

  • Us paint, assemble and inspect every piece.

06

Delivered to your door

Your portrait is carefully packed and shipped worldwide at no extra cost. You get tracking all the way — from order to doorstep it usually takes 2–3 weeks.

  • You follow it on our Track Your Order page.
  • Us pack it securely and send you tracking.

Because every pet is one of a kind.

Painted by Hand, Not Printed

Filters and prints can copy a photo, but they cannot capture a personality. Every Forever Paws Art portrait is painted by an artist, one acrylic layer at a time, so each piece carries real brushwork, real depth and the care that went into it. No two are ever the same.

What makes a great photo

01Good light
A husky photographed in soft, even light

Works best: Daylight or a bright room

The same husky in dim yellow light with a hard shadow across the face

Try to avoid: Dim light, harsh shadows

02The right angle
A golden dog photographed at eye level

Works best: At your pet’s eye level

A golden dog photographed from above, looking up

Try to avoid: Taken from far above

03Sharp focus
A Labrador puppy in sharp focus sitting on grass

Works best: Face sharp, eyes clear

The same Labrador puppy, blurry and over-zoomed

Try to avoid: Blurry or zoomed in

04The original file
A white cat photo in natural colours

Works best: The photo straight from your camera

The same cat as a filtered, low-resolution screenshot

Try to avoid: Filters, screenshots, tiny app images

Questions

Good to know

How long does it take?

From placing your order to receiving it, it usually takes 2–3 weeks. That includes painting, your sketch approval and shipping.

How many layers should I choose?

Every option is hand-painted. 5 layers already gives a clear 3D effect; 6 or 7 layers add more depth and finer separation in fur and features.

Can I change something after I approve?

Changes are easy before you approve the sketch. Once painting has started, changes may no longer be possible — so take your time with the sketch.

Can you combine several pets from different photos?

Yes — choose Multi-Pet Portrait (2, 3 or 4 pets) and upload a photo of each. We will arrange them together in the sketch for you to approve.

Where is my order?

Check its status any time on our Track Your Order page with your order number and email.
